The
2000 Eastern League season was full of excitement right to the end and the playoffs
promise to be even more exciting. The Harrisburg Senators and Akron Aeros finished
the regular season with identical 75-67 records and were tied for the second
playoff spot in the Southern Division. The two teams met in a one game playoff
to see who would face the first place Reading Phillies in the Divisional Series.
The Senators came out on top, 8-1, and will face their rivals from Reading in
the first round. In the Northern Division, the first place Binghamton Mets will
square off against the New Haven Ravens in a battle of two teams that have been
on top of the division all year.
